Varied Vases

May 2020

Good morning,

I hope that you are all keeping well. I made this card for my neighbour who works in a nursing home. I was talking to her and she was saying that nobody had thanked any of the staff who worked there. I  couldn't understand why the staff was going unappreciated especially now when they are risking their lives to take care of loved ones. I thought that the least I could do was to make them a card.

I used the colour Pacific Point. I didn't want anything too feminine (pinks & light purples together) because men work there as well.
I used Pacific Point card stock cut at 4 1/4" X 11" folded in half.
2 pieces of white - the inside one 4' X 5 1/4" and the one for the front 3 5/8" X 4 7/8".
The mat is from the Brights 6' X 6" DSP and cut at 4 1/8" X 5 3/8".
The main vase is from the same DSP package and the other vases are Pacific Point card stock.
The flower is Daffodil Delight and the leaf and stem is Granny Apple Green. With my colours I used only colours from the Brights Collection. TIP: If you are unsure what colours go with what, you can always stay within one of the four different colour collections.
I adhered the white to the inside to write on and also the DSP mat. I stamped the sentiments which are from the Varied Vases stamp set ( sadly this is retiring with the annual catalogue). I positioned the vases first - punched from the Vases Builder Punch - so I would know what space to stamp in. This was especially important when I stamped the stem. I ended up having to mask some of it off before I inked it so that it would not stick out of the bottom of the vase and always remember to take that mask off before you stamp! I use post it notes to do this.
I then adhered the vases and used dimensionals to raise the middle vase, leaf and flower. Finally, I adhered that to the front of the card.                                                                                                    Using the Vases Builder Punch, it is a very easy card to put together.

I send this card out to everyone who has contact with people during these times.

You are simply the best!  Thanks

Mary
