Abstract Impressions Thank You

April 2020

Good morning,

I trust that this finds you all well.

Today, I made a Thank You card for one of my customers. It could also be used for a Birthday Card for a crafty friend.

The card stock that I used was Gorgeous Grape and white. I bought my first pack of 6" X 6" DSP in Subtles. This paper includes four designs x 2 of each of all of the subtle colours. You can purchase any of the colour collections. I knew that one side had writing on it and I thought that it was english or french script that you couldn't really read like some of the large fancy DSP. To my delight it says "Inspire Create Share Ink Stamp Repeat"! It was perfect for my customer. I used the Highland Heather colour.

I used the Abstract Impressions stamp set to make the wreath of flowers and then I die cut it used a stitched circle die. The wreath can be made in one of three ways.
1) The wreath is very easy to make especially if you have a Stamparatus. I looked on Youtube and I found the tutorial by PinkBuckaroo( 05 Jun 2018) to be the best explanation. I would encourage you to check it out.                                                                                                                                            2) It can also be made by drawing a circle lightly in pencil and evenly stamping your flowers around it. Don't forget to erase your pencil! The demonstrator who did this - her card was stunning however it not easy to get your flowers totally evenly spaced and two of her flowers overlapped. She put those flowers at the bottom and covered them with a bow so you really couldn't tell.                                       3) If you are very good with a craft knife you can also make a template to fit and rotate your paper. You would take a 4" X 4" piece of card stock and trace that on to a piece of thick card stock or plastic. You would then rotate the 4 x 4 piece so that the corners are at the middle of the square--2" on each side to make a star. You would then cut this out and put your card stock in and stamp and then rotate your paper and stamp again until you had a wreath. I am not that precise with a craft knife so this wasn't for me.
I would really recommend the Stamparatus method as it is easy, precise, and all of the flowers turn out the same.
The small flowers in the Abstract Impressions stamp set are two step stamping. I used Highland Heather for the flower and Gorgeous Grape for the highlights. If the flowers aren't perfect, don't worry, they are meant to be abstract!

As the wreath turned out to be about 3 7/8", I cut my card a bit larger. I cut it at 4 1/2" X 11" and folded it in half. I cut the Highland Heather DSP to 4 1/4" X 2 1/4".
Adhere the DSP and then the wreath.
For the flower centers I used my light Highland Heather Stampin' Blend marker to colour some small pearls. If you wanted to you could use rhinestones or just leave them plain. Remember it is your card so create it according to your style!
For the bow, I coloured some Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon again using my light Highland Heather Stampin' Blend. I love this ribbon as you can colour it with a marker and it is easy to tie. It is in the Mini Catalogue.

So that is it! This card is for you Kim. Thank you for your order.

I also have some ideas about thinking of you cards during these trying times. Remember to be kind and thank to grocery check out person, the pharmacist, the bank teller and especially anybody in the medical field for being out there on the front lines. Also check in with your neighbours.
A thank you or thinking of you card is so appreciated!

Take care,

Mary
