Daisy Lane Flowerpot Card 2

March 2020

Good afternoon everyone.

Today I have a card that I made before. It is a flowerpot card using the Medium Daisy Punch.

The dimensions are all the same but I wove 1/4" strips on the pot to make it look like a woven basket pot. I put pieces of the 1/4" paper strips down the sides, bottoms and tops to finish the pot off. It is hard to see in the picture but I took a little bit of Crumb Cake ink on the sides and bottoms to give it a bit of definition, interest and reality. I was looking at a woven basket that I have and there were all different colours. If I make another one of these cards, I think that I will take the sponge dauber and "swipe" it over pieces of the strips to see what it looks like.   I will play :)

For the daisies, I punched out ten flowers and then using my daubers again I used five spring colours to make five flowers. You attach two of each colour together using a glue dot. I even looked it up on the internet and yes there are blue daisies - lol.

This time I tied a ribbon around the top instead of putting paper on. I also made a little tag for the front that is attached with twine. In stores, you often see tags with the kind of flowers in the pot (or the price) and I was going for that look. I attached the know of the twine behind the Pool Party ribbon bow.

The colours that I used for the flowers were a very light touch of Mango Melody, Highland Heather, a light touch of Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party. I also used Pool Party to stamp the sentiments.

The sentiment that I used on the inside is from the Very Versailles stamp set.

The sentiment on the outside is from the Timeless Tulips stamp set. I really like the tulips but the sentiments are awesome! I masked off the Happy Easter, etc. stamp so that I was just left with HAPPY SPRING. I used the Classic Label Punch and also the new Label Me Fancy Punch. With the latter I punched out the hole -- so handy. I stamped both sides of the label so that if it turns around you will always have the sentiment. I also reinserted the label into the punch to trim it down a bit. You could also use your scissors.

Enjoy
