Happy Sunday! It was going to be but due to technical problems it is now Happy Rainy Monday! ( thankfully it isn't snow!!!)

I have two more May 2019 Paper Pumpkin alternatives and then we will more on to something else.

The first one is

pretty and simple. I cut the pink flower note card in half just below the score line. I then cut the matching envelope and cut a sliver off of either side so that the envelope opened whole. Aren't the envelope liners pretty? Don't throw them away - save them for another project. Any way I cut the envelope so that it was just the front. I used Old Olive card stock and cut it to 8 1/2" X 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4". I attached the envelope front to the upper left hand corner of the card A tip: When you are using paper, use your favourite tape adhesive. If you use glue it will show. With the patterned card stock I wrapped the petal pink string( it is lovely and feels like chenille) around it twice tying a bow to connect the two ends. I then stamped the sentiment onto the label and used the ink spot stamp stamp included to stamp the background. I used Old Olive for the sentiment and for the spots I stamped off once using Petal Pink and then stamped on to the label. I made sure that the spots were not stamped on to the border of the label. I also added some small pearls - make sure that you add an uneven amount or embellishments as this is more pleasing to the eye. I attached it using the included dimensionals. I staggered the patterned card stock and attached it to the lower right leaving the same size border as the paper.

For the inside, I attached a piece of whisper white card stock(4" X 5 1/4"). I attached a flower cutout that was included in the bottom right. This pulls the card together.

Easy right?

The second card is a vintage looking card. I love it!

It the ink splotched card front. I used the two included bird stamps and stamped them in Early Espresso.The ink spot is also included in the kit. I then turned over one of the labels because I did not want the foil to show and I used the included Hello stamp. Isn't the font beautiful! I also used Pool Party stamped off once to put some more ink splotches on. I distressed the edges just using a pair of scissors. If a bit tears that's okay - it just looks older. On the original I took the ink spot and just rubbed it around the edges. It was much too dark. For this one I used an ink dauber and stamped it on a scrap to make sure that it wasn't too dark and then I went around the edges. If some gets on to the top of the card that's okay - it just looks older. It's a very forgiving technique. I also sponged the edges of the tag.
I had some craft cards and envelopes from Recollections and I was going to put in on the top. When I looked at it, even with the ribbon and feather, I thought that it needed some more colour. I cut open another envelope and just used the printed flap. I tore it roughly in two pieces and inked the edges as well - again making sure that the colour on the dauber was not too dark.
I then cut a piece of the Pretty Peacock velvet ribbon just to the end of the card stock. I did not wrap the ends around as I did not want to have to put in up on dimensionals. I wrapped a piece of the included twine around the velvet twice and adhered the end on the back of the card. I then adhered it done trying to keep it even around the edges.
I wanted to put the vellum feather underneath the ribbon and the tag so that I could adhere it with the adhesive showing. I did this with the included glue dots and was very pleasantly surprised that you could not see them! I decided to add one at the top as well. I then put on the tag and I used dimensionals on the top bottom side of the tag - if that makes sense - lol and some glue dots on the bottom. You need to do this as the ribbon sticks up like dimensionals.
On the inside and on the front of the envelope I stamped a feather(included with the kit).

I really like vintage cards so I had fun making this.

Hi friends!

This is my first blog post using Blogger so I hope all goes well.

My name is Mary Dekoning and I am a Canadian Independent Stampin' Up demonstrator however you will see me using other products as well. I love making cards that have 3D flowers and also shabby chic or vintage cards.

I was first introduced to Stampin' Up at a home party that I attended 1 1/2 years ago. I was spending a lot of money with Stampin' Up so I decided to become a demonstrator. It's a great way to get a discount;) I love that Stampin' Up has paper, ink, DSP(designer series paper) and embellishments that all match. It saves a lot of frustration and headaches!

My first card that I am going to show you is using the May 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit. This is the second Paper Pumpkin kit that I have received and they are awesome!The kit provides the cards and matching envelopes, an ink spot, a stamp set that is exclusive to the kit, embellishments and adhesives. It also includes instructions or you can choose to think outside of the box and make your own designs.

The May kit came with note cards and I prefer standard size cards-----so here we go.

For this card I cut one of the blue bird patterned note cards in half just below the score line. I then cut the patterned card stock into 1 1/2" strips. The very vanilla card stock from the back of the card was cut into 1 5/8" strips and adhered behind the patterned card stock. I had a piece of Pool Party card stock which matches some of the cards in the kit and cut it to 5 1/4" X 3 3/4". I adhered the strips evenly to this piece and then added a piece of the Pretty Peacock velvet ribbon (which was included in the kit) across the bottom. For the included tag I stamped off once and stamped a bird. I also included an included flower embellishment.I cheated and used a sentiment from another stamp set;). I attached that and then attached the whole panel using the included dimensionals  to a Very Vanilla card base cut at 5 1/2" X 8" and scored at 4".

Since you cannot leave the inside of a card naked I once again stamped off once with Pool Party ink and stamped  3 birds. You can hardly see it in the picture but in real life it looks very good if I do say so myself! It also ties the card together. You can stamp any sentiment inside or leave the card blank to write your own note.
