Hello friends,
It's a hot one here today but at least it isn't raining for a change! Also, it isn't as hot as it is in Europe!
I said that I was going to show you one last flower card (for a while:) ). It was my neighbour's 50th anniversary. I made the following card for them. The colours look a bit off in the photo.....
As I remembered the paper, I thought that the roses were white. As I found out they were a yellowish beigey white. I found some card stock in my stash to match luckily. The card measures 5" X 5". I attached the rose paper to totally cover the card base using tear and tape so that it would not show through on the inside of the card nor would it show on the outside as the rose paper was thin.. I had 3 gold paper roses that I attached with glue dots. The sentiment label I cut using my Cricut. My label punch is on it's way from Stampin' Up in my next order. I heat embossed the sentiment using gold embossing powder. I tried the glitter gold but it did not show up very well. TIP When using gold glitter embossing powder, use it on darker hues of card stock as it is clearer. I then looped some gold metallic-edge ribbon around the edge of the sentiment and attached it with glue dots. The gold edged ribbon is Very Vanilla(item#144146) so it matched perfectly! I didn't like the way it looked so I ended up cutting the loops. I ended up with three (3 roses, 3 pieces of ribbon --- odd numbers are good!!!) pieces of ribbon but it was still missing something so I added a gold sequin with a glue dot. Those glue dots stick extremely well to anything! I also attached a 1" strip of the rose paper down the left hand side of the inside of the card. I looked for a Happy Anniversary stamp. I could not believe in all of the stamps that I have I do not have one that says anniversary! I'm still in shock:) I will definitely have to do something about that!
I delivered it and they loved it :) :)
Have fun card making today!
